Infosys Q1 FY27 results: Net profit dips 9% QoQ; board appoints Ashiss Kumar Dash as new CEO designate

Infosys’ free cash flow (FCF) stood at $0.96 billion at the end of Q1 FY27.

Infosys reported a nearly 9% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) drop in consolidated net profit at ₹7,769 crore on Thursday, July 23, for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27) as compared to ₹8,501 crore in the last quarter of the previous fiscal year.

On a year-on-year basis, the country’s second-largest IT services company’s net profit rose 12.2% from ₹6,921 crore.

The company's revenue in the April-June period gained 3.8% QoQ to ₹48,211 crore from ₹46,204 crore seen in the previous quarter (Q4 FY26).

Earnings Before Interest and Tax (EBIT) came in at ₹10,163 crore, marking a sequential growth of 4.3% as against ₹46,402 crore reported in the previous quarter. The EBIT margin for the quarter improved to 21.08%, up from 20.99% seen in the March quarter of FY26.

In constant currency terms, the IT firm delivered $5,082 million in revenues for the quarter under review, marking a yearly growth of 2.4% and a sequential increase of 1%.

Infosys’ free cash flow (FCF) stood at $0.96 billion at the end of Q1 FY27. Additionally, its AI-led initiatives contributed 8.2% to the company’s overall revenue during the quarter.

“AI momentum is now rapidly converting into revenue, which demonstrates how Infosys’ differentiated enterprise AI value proposition is translating into consistent market share gains. Strong large deal wins, powered by Infosys Topaz, reinforce client confidence in our ability to be the strategic partner of choice for AI transformation driving tangible business value,” said Salil Parekh, CEO and MD of Infosys.

The company reported an EPS growth of 14.9% year-on-year in rupee terms. Its total contract value (TCV) of large deal wins came in at $3.6 billion, of which 61% was net new.

“We are accelerating investments in AI, talent, and platforms to drive future growth and remain committed to improving productivity, expanding operating leverage and maintaining the financial flexibility needed to capitalize on emerging opportunities while delivering sustainable shareholder value,” said Infosys CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka.

FY27 guidance

Infosys revised its FY27 revenue growth guidance to 1.5%-3.0% in constant currency (CC) terms from the earlier range of 1.5%-3.5%, while retaining its operating margin guidance at 20%-22%. The company had issued the previous revenue outlook while announcing its Q4 FY26 results in April.

New CEO designate appointed

Furthermore, the Infosys board has approved the appointment of Ashiss Kumar Dash as Chief Executive Officer designate with immediate effect for five years. The company added that he will hold this position until March 31, 2027.

The company further stated that the Board has approved its intention to appoint Ashiss Kumar Dash as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director with effect from April 1, 2027, subject to the fulfillment of all statutory requirements.

Dash is currently the global head of a diverse business portfolio comprising multiple industry verticals and is planned to succeed Salil Parekh as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer on April 1, 2027, following the completion of Salil’s second term, after over 9 years.

On Thursday, shares of Infosys settled at ₹1,047.40 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, falling 0.45%. The earnings, however, came after the market hours.
