ICICI Prudential Life Q3 results: Net profit rises 20% to ₹390 crore, net premium income declines 4%

ICICI Prudential Life Q3 results: ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company, the country's leading private sector life insurer, on Tuesday, January 13, reported a net profit of ₹390 crore in the third quarter of current financial year (Q3FY26), marking an increase of 20% from ₹326 crore in the same period last year. Its net premium income in the October-December period, however, declined nearly 4% to ₹11,809 crore from ₹12,261 crore in the year-ago period.

The company's value of new business (VNB) in the third quarter came in at ₹615 crore and in the first nine months of current financial year VNB stood at ₹1,664 crore with a margin of 24.4%, ICICI Prudential said in an exchange filing.

ICICI Prudential's retail annualized premium equivalent (APE), a key metric for life insurers to measure new business sales, grew by 9.9% year-on-year from ₹1,926 crore in to ₹2,116 crore and retail number of policies grew by 11.7% year-on-year.

The retail protection APE grew strongly by 40.8% year-on-year from ₹147 billion to ₹207 crore in the third quarter aided by the implementation of recent GST reforms, ICICI Prudential said.

"The 13th month and 49th month persistency ratio stood at 84.4% and 71.3% respectively as on December 31, 2025. The Company has observed challenges in specific channel & product pockets where persistency levels are lower than the initial assumptions. To address this, corrective actions have been initiated aimed at improving these levels and it is being monitored closely," ICICI Prudential added.

The assets under management of the company grew by 6.5% annually from ₹3,10,414 crore to ₹ 3,30,729 crore. ICICI Prudential Life Insurance shares rose as much as 3.82% to hit a fresh 52-week high of ₹706.80 after earnings announcement.
