ICICI Lombard Q1 results: Net profit surges 29% YoY to ₹747 crore, net premium up 14%

ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company on Tuesday, July 15, reported a 28.7% year-on-year (YoY) increase in its net profit to ₹747 crore in the first quarter of the 2025-26 financial year (Q1FY26), compared to ₹580 crore it clocked in the year-ago period.

The general insurance company’s net total income stood at ₹6,083 crore in the quarter under review, improving 13.7% YoY from ₹5,352 crore in the June quarter of FY25. Furthermore, its gross direct premium income (GDPI) grew by 0.6% YoY to ₹7,735 crore, as against ₹7,688 crore last year. The GDPI growth fell short of the industry growth of 8.8% YoY

Its net premium surged 14% YoY to ₹5,136 crore during the quarter, as against ₹4,504 crore in the Q1FY25. Meanwhile, its combined ratio expanded to 102.9% in contrast to 102.3% in the corresponding quarter a year earlier and 102.5% in the fourth quarter of FY25.

In the June FY26 quarter, ICICI Lombard clocked an advanced premium of ₹3,807 crore from ₹3,717 crore at March 31, 2025.

The company’s solvency ratio was higher than the regulatory requirement of 1.5x, standing at 2.7 times as of June 30, 2025, compared to 2.69x as of March 31, 2025.

"In the backdrop of elevated competitive intensity, we continue to drive our strategy in Motor insurance based on granular portfolio segmentation and distribution expansion," the company said.

ICICI Lombard share performance

Shares of ICICI Lombard closed 0.59% lower at ₹2,007.8 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Tuesday. However, the results were announced after the market closed.

The stock lost 1.14% over the previous week and 1.84% since the beginning of July. It gained 13.80% in the first quarter of FY26 and 12.02% on a year-to-date basis.

While the scrip reached a 52-week low of ₹1,613.70 on March 4, 2025, it hit a year’s high of ₹2,301.90 apiece on September 23, 2024.

ICICI Lombard has a total market capitalisation of ₹99,724.75 crore, as of July 15, 2025, as per data on the NSE.
