Godrej Consumer Products posted a 14% year-on-year (YoY) rise in net profits during the July to September quarter earnings for the financial year 2026-27, while the overall margins of the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) company remained under pressure due to the elevated costs in the period under review.

As per the latest filings, Godrej Consumer Products’ consolidated net profits (attributable to owners) surged nearly 14% YoY to ₹523 crore in the second quarter of FY27, in comparison to ₹459 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.

The data further showed that the revenue from core operations (sale of products) surged 19% to ₹4,413 crore in the September quarter, compared with ₹3,708 crore in the same quarter of the previous year.

Despite the healthy revenue gains, the company’s overall rise in expenses due to the elevated raw material costs added downward pressure on the margin growth in the period under review.

“This marks our second consecutive quarter of high teens revenue growth with high-single-digit underlying volume growth and double-digit profit growth,” the company said in its official statement.

Margins under pressure

Godrej Consumer Products’ operating profit advanced nearly 12% to ₹820 crore in the July to September quarter, while the EBITDA margins contracted 119 basis points to 18.58%, in comparison to 19.77% in the same period a year earlier.

The company’s margins came under pressure due to the cost of raw materials rising in the period under review.

Looking ahead, the company’s management maintained its FY27 guidance, anticipating double-digit revenue and EBITDA growth at the consolidated level.

“We continue to hold our FY27 guidance: high-single-digit underlying volume growth in Standalone, and double-digit revenue and EBITDA growth at the consolidated level. With revenue running ahead of plan through the first half, we remain on track to deliver, with the confidence to exceed it in select areas,” the company said.

₹5/share dividend

Along with the Q2 earnings, Godrej Consumer Products’ board also declared a ₹5 per share interim dividend issue for shareholders at a face value of ₹1 apiece for the financial year 2026-27.

“The Board of Directors declared an interim dividend of ₹5 per equity share (500% on equity shares of face value of ₹1 each) for the Financial Year 2026-27,” the company informed the stock exchanges.

This means all eligible shareholders will be entitled to receive the dividend payment of ₹5 per share for every share they own in the company up to one day ahead of the pre-determined record date for the corporate action.

“As intimated earlier, the Record Date for ascertaining the names of the Shareholders who will be entitled to receive the said dividend shall be Wednesday, November 4, 2026,” as per the official statement.

The company disclosed that the dividend will be paid to all eligible shareholders on or before Friday, November 27, 2026.
