Following the earnings announcement, shares of BEL advanced 3.52% to ₹276.60 apiece on the National Stock Exchange at 2:43 pm. Intraday, it rose as much as 4.41%.
BEL, a navratna defence PSU, achieved a turnover of ₹5,643.25 crore, reflecting a growth of 36.97% in Q3 FY24 over the turnover of ₹4,120.10 crore posted in the corresponding period of the previous year.
The order book position of the company as of January 1, 2025, stood at ₹7,1100 crore.
EBITDA (Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation) grew by 57.5% to ₹1,653.3 crore in the latest December quarter, compared to ₹1,049 crore in Q3 FY24. EBITDA margin was at 28.7% vs 25.4% a year back.
"Upto 3rd quarter of FY 2024-25, BEL achieved a yurnover of ₹14,173.68 cr as against ₹11,484.92 cr recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year. Profit Before Tax (PBT) has increased to ₹4,242.37 cr from ₹2,948.95 cr recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year. The Profit After Tax (PAT) has increased to ₹3,183.47 cr from ₹2,236.48 cr recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year," the company said in an exchange filing.
