Bharat Dynamics reported its April to June quarter earnings for the financial year 2026-27 on Friday, August 14, where the defence equipment manufacturer recorded a multi-fold growth in its overall net profits due to strong revenue gains in the period.

NSE filings showed that Bharat Dynamics posted a 547% year-on-year (YoY) rise in its standalone net profits to ₹119 crore in the first quarter of FY27, in comparison to ₹18 crore net profit in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

On a sequential basis, the company’s net profits advanced 5% to its June quarter levels, compared to ₹113 crore in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year ended 2025-26.

The company’s strong growth in profit for the period under review comes due to a 130% gain in its revenue from core operations to ₹572 crore in the June quarter, compared to ₹248 crore in the same period last year.

The data also showed that the total expenses for the period advanced 63% YoY to ₹510 crore, from ₹248 crore in the same period a year earlier, as per the filing data.

The defence equipment manufacturer turned its operational-level earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) positive in the first quarter at ₹83 crore, against a negative ₹45 crore in the same period a year ago.

On the margins front, the company’s EBITDA margins expanded to 14.51%, against a negative EBITDA margin in the same period a year earlier, as per the exchange data.

Bharat Dynamics share performance

Bharat Dynamics shares have delivered more than 630% returns to their investors in the last five years, and over 150% gains in the last three years, according to NSE data. However, the company’s stock has declined 11% in the past one year.

Although the company’s stock has lost 5% year-to-date (YTD), Bharat Dynamics shares have gained 10% in the last one-month period. The exchange data also showed that the company's shares were trading 8.6% higher in the last five market sessions.

NSE data showed that Bharat Dynamics shares surged to their 52-week high of ₹1,654 apiece on September 22, 2025, while the 52-week low was at ₹1,086 apiece on March 30, 2026.

The company’s market capitalisation (m-cap) was at ₹51,084 crore as of the trading session on Friday, August 14, 2026.
