Bank of Baroda Q1 earnings: Bank of Baroda on Friday, July 24, reported its earnings for the April-June quarter of the 2026-27 financial year (Q1 FY27).

The bank reported a 71.8% year-on-year (YoY) fall in its standalone net profit to ₹1,278.39 crore during the quarter under review, compared with ₹4,541.36 crore in the first quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year (Q1 FY26).

Its net interest income (NII), however, advanced by 9.5% YoY to ₹12,524 crore during the quarter, as against ₹11,435 crore in the June quarter of FY26.

Its net interest margin (NIM) contracted to 2.77% in the quarter ended June 30, 2026, from 2.91% in the same period last year.

Asset quality

While Bank of Baroda’s asset quality improved on a YoY basis, it worsened sequentially.

Bank of Baroda’s gross non-performing assets (GNPA) increased by 10 basis points (bps) quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) but declined by 29 bps YoY to 1.99% for the reporting quarter, from 1.89% in the quarter-ago period and 2.04% in the year-ago period.

Its net non-performing asset (NNPA) expanded by 5 bps QoQ to 0.50% from 0.45% in the March FY26 quarter. However, it fell by 10 bps YoY from 0.57% in Q1 FY26.

Key highlights

The bank’s global business stood at ₹30.50 lakh crore, registering a growth of 15.4% YoY. Its global advances grew 17.4% YoY, and domestic advances surged 16.1% YoY during the quarter.

Its organic retail advances soared by 18.4% YoY, driven by strong YoY growth across segments such as Auto Loan advancing 25.3%, Mortgage Loan at 27.4%, Home Loan at 14.7% and Education Loan at 10.8%.

Bank of Baroda’s domestic deposits advanced by 14.7% YoY to ₹13.82 lakh crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2026. Its global deposits increased by 13.8% YoY to ₹16.34 lakh crore.

Furthermore, its domestic Current Account and Savings Account (CASA) deposits clocked a 10% YoY growth to ₹5.21 lakh crore as of June 30, 2026.

Its international Deposits grew by 8.9% on a YoY basis to ₹2.52 lakh crore for the reporting quarter.

Shares of the bank closed 1.36% higher at ₹246.45 per unit on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday. However, the results were reported after the markets closed.

Bank of Baroda has a total market capitalisation of ₹1.27 lakh crore as of July 24, 2026, according to data on the NSE.
