The company posted an 8.5% year-on-year (YoY) surge in its consolidated net profit to ₹743.57 crore during the quarter under review, compared with ₹685.01 crore in the second quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year (Q2 FY26).
Its revenue from operations jumped 17.8% YoY to ₹19,644.01 crore in Q2 FY27, as against ₹16,676.30 crore in the same period last year, according to a regulatory filing.
At an operational level, its earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA), also known as operating profit, stood at ₹1,393 crore for the reporting quarter, marking a 14.7% YoY increase from ₹1,214 crore in the September quarter of FY26.
However, its EBITDA margin contracted by 20 basis points (bps) YoY to 7.1% in the second quarter of FY27, in contrast to 7.3% in the year-ago period.
The food products category, which includes staples, dairy, frozen products, processed foods, snacks, groceries, fruits and vegetables, beverages and confectionery, and cooking oils, contributed 57.01% to DMart’s revenue in the reporting period.
Furthermore, the non-foods FMCG segment, which is comprised of home care, personal care, toiletries, and other over-the-counter products, made up 19.65% of the firm’s revenue from operations in Q2 FY27.
The general merchandise and apparel segment, made up of footwear, home appliances, plastic goods, garments, toys and games, crockery, and bed and bath products, contributed 23.34% to the revenue.
During the quarter, the company added 15 stores, it said.
DMart saw its like-for-like (LFL) growth stand at 9.5% in the quarter ended September 30, 2026, compared with 6.8% in the year-ago period.
LFL growth means the growth in revenue from sales of same stores which have been operational for at least 24 months at the end of the reporting period.
Avenue Supermarts clocked a consolidated net profit of ₹1,604.18 crore in the six months ended September 30, 2026 (H1 FY27), reflecting a 10.03% YoY surge from ₹1,457.98 crore in the same period last year.
Its revenue from operations stood at ₹38,438.54 crore during the period, marking a 16.35% YoY increase from ₹33,036 crore in the first half of FY26 (H1 FY26).
Avenue Supermarts added 18 stores in H1 FY27.
Shares of the company closed 1.90% lower at ₹3,516.80 per unit on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday, October 9.
