Gold touches all-time high amid buying ahead of Dhanteras festival; check the latest gold and silver prices in your city

Gold advanced by ₹240 to hit fresh all-time high levels in major Indian cities in early trade on Tuesday, October 22, following festive season demand and positive global trends.

Gold gained ₹240 per 10 grams to touch an all-time high of ₹79,800 in Delhi on Tuesday on local demand from jewellers. The 22K gold breached the ₹73,000 per 10 grams level for the first time on buying by retailers ahead of Dhanteras festival. Tensions in the Middle East and the uncertainty around the US presidential election are among the factors supporting gold prices.

The spot gold gained 0.44% to $2,732.11 an ounce in early Asian trade on Tuesday. Gold hit an all-time high of ₹2,740 an ounce on Monday before giving up some of the gains in overnight trade.

In Delhi markets, 24K gold prices rose by ₹240 to ₹79,800 per 10 grams and 22K gold by ₹240 to ₹73,160 per 10 grams.

Silver rebounded by ₹1,700 per kg in major Indian cities in early trade on Tuesday to breach the ₹1,00,000 per kg mark for the first time. Silver prices rose to ₹1,01,100 in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. Expectations of demand revival from China following a rate cut by the Chinese central bank shot up silver to all-time high levels.

Spot Silver traded higher by 0.84% at $34.06 an ounce in global markets. Silver traded at $33.78 an ounce in overnight trade.
