Gold, silver price today on October 18 in Mumbai, Delhi; check the latest prices in your city

Gold advanced by ₹220 to trade at all-time high levels in major Indian cities in early trade on Friday, October 18, as a flare-up in geopolitical tensions boosted its demand as a safe haven. Firm local demand and gains in the precious metal in global markets following the easing of US bond yields helped gold breach ₹78,000 level in major cities.

The yellow metal breached the ₹78,000 mark for the first time in Delhi markets on Thursday but traded below the record level in the rest of the cities. Rising tensions in West Asia provided a boost to the metal to trade above ₹78,000 mark in all major cities on Friday.

In global markets, gold shot up to a fresh record high of $2,700 an ounce as Israel threatened to strike Iran “any time” in response to missile attacks earlier this month. Gold traded at record high levels of $2,707 an ounce in early Asian trade on Friday.

In Delhi markets, 24K gold prices advanced by ₹220 to a record high of ₹78,270 per 10 grams and 22K gold by ₹200 to ₹71,760 per 10 grams.

Silver Price Today in India (October 18, 2024)

Silver prices eased by ₹200 per kg in major Indian cities in early trade on Friday following weak industrial demand. Silver prices dropped by ₹200 per kg in Delhi markets while traded flat in Mumbai and Kolkata.

Spot Silver traded higher by 0.80% at $31.94 an ounce in global markets. Silver had hit a high of $31.98 an ounce in overnight trade.
