Gold rate at ₹1.59 lakh per 10 gram in Mumbai, Silver drops over 4% in domestic market; check latest gold and silver prices

Gold prices are trading marginally lower on Thursday, February 26. In the early morning, gold prices edged higher in the domestic and Asian markets as a weaker US dollar and uncertainty around US trade tariffs supported the demand for safe-haven assets like gold and silver, but precious metals witnessed profit booking after closing higher in the previous trading session.

Investors are keeping a close eye on the US-Iran meeting in Geneva for renewed discussions over nuclear programme. Any setback in the latest talks between the two countries could accelerate demand for the precious metals. Investors also await key US economic data like weekly jobless claims, to be announced later this week for further clues on the US Fed monetary policy.

In the domestic markets, the 24K gold is down ₹1,340 to ₹1.60 lakh per 10 grams, and the 22K gold is available around ₹1.46 lakh per 10 grams in major Indian cities. So far this year, Gold prices have remained highly volatile amid geopolitical tensions and US trade tariffs.

In New Delhi markets, the 24K gold rate stood at ₹159,380 per 10 gram and 22K gold at ₹146,098 per 10 gram.

MCX Gold futures are also trading lower. As of 1:30 pm, the MCX Gold April future is down over 1% at ₹1,59,351 per 10 gram, with a day high of ₹1,60,858 and day low of ₹1,59,351. In the US markets, Gold Spot price is trading 0.7% or $36 lower at $5,189 per ounce.

Silver price today in India

Silver prices are trading lower in the local market around the ₹2.60 lakh mark on Thursday, February 26. Meanwhile, MCX Silver for May delivery trades 4.3% lower at ₹2.66 lakh per kg, while international silver prices trade around $86.8 per troy ounce, down 4.5%.
