Gold prices in India: Precious metal recover from fall, 24k gold rate near ₹1,36,000 per 10 gram; check the latest price

Gold prices in India are trading marginally higher on Tuesday, December 30, after witnessing a sharp decline and volatility in the previous trading session. At 10:00 am, the 24K gold rate in the local market stood at ₹136,160 per 10 gram, up ₹910/10 gram compared to yesterday’s closing, while 22K gold was at ₹124,813 per 10 gram. Meanwhile, Silver prices saw a strong rebound, rising by over 4.4% to trade around ₹233,930 per kg after high volatility yesterday.

Gold and Silver prices saw profit booking in yesterday's trading session after witnessing a significant rise in the past few sessions. Multiple factors, like easing geopolitical tensions and a rise in CME initial margin from $20,000 to $25,000 from March 2026 for silver derivative contracts, impacted the precious metal prices.

A fall in the US dollar index was also positive for the gold and silver prices, as a weaker US dollar boosts precious metal prices because it becomes cheaper for foreign buyers to buy the same amount of gold.

As of 9:30 am, the 24K gold rate stood at ₹135,450 per 10 gram and 22K gold at ₹124,163 per 10 gram in the Mumbai markets.

MCX Gold futures trade in line with the movement witnessed in international markets. As of 10:00 am, the MCX Gold February 2026 future is up 0.5% at ₹1,35,729 per 10 gram, with a day high of ₹1,36,044 and a day low of ₹ 1,35,292. In the US markets, Gold futures were trading 0.7% or $31 higher at $4,375 an ounce.

Silver prices are also trading lower in the local market, around ₹233,930 per kg, up 4.4%. Meanwhile, MCX Silver for March delivery trades 3.7% higher at ₹2,32,821 per kg as of 10:00 am, while international silver prices trade around $73.7 per troy ounce, up 4.7%.
