Falling for the fourth day in a row, gold price dropped by ₹ 440 per 10 grams in early trade on Thursday, November 14, after firm US inflation data boosted the dollar value in global markets. Weak domestic demand also weighed on the precious metal.

The US dollar index firmed up to 106.50 level after official data showed US retail inflation inched up to 2.6% in October, tinkering the rate cut hopes.

Gold of 24K purity fell by ₹440 per 10 grams while the yellow metal of 22K purity dropped by ₹400 per 10 grams in major Indian cities.

US spot gold was trading down by 0.2% at $2,567 an ounce in early Asian trade. The metal dropped to an over two-month low of $2,565 an ounce in overnight trade.

Silver prices remained steady in major Indian cities in early trade on Thursday due to some demand from industrial units. Silver traded steady at ₹90,900 per kg in major Indian cities.

Spot silver dropped by 0.4% to $30.19 an ounce in global markets. In overnight trade, the metal hit a low of $30.16 an ounce and a high of ₹ $30.43 an ounce.
