Gold price on December 20: Check 22 and 24-carat gold rate in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata

Gold prices in major Indian cities inched down in early trade on Friday, December 20, even as global cues offered some relief.

Price for 24-carat gold stood at ₹77,270 per 10 gm on Friday, down ₹10 compared with ₹77,280 per 10 gm on Thursday.

Gold prices had taken a hit in the previous session after the US Fed projected fewer rate cuts in 2025. But fresh buying was seen at lower levels in international trade on Thursday, leading to a recovery in the yellow metal's prices.

Spot gold was up 0.4% at $2,598.20 per ounce as of 1851 GMT after rising as much as 1.5% earlier in the session.

In Delhi markets, 24K gold prices slipped by ₹ 10 to ₹77,270 per 10 grams and 22K gold to ₹70,840 per 10 grams. The 24K Gold in Mumbai dropped to ₹77,120 per 10 grams and 22K gold by ₹10 to ₹70,690 per 10 grams.

Silver Price Today in India (December 20, 2024)

Silver prices witnessed a marginal drop on Friday, trading at ₹91,400 per kg in major Indian cities in the early session, ₹100 down from the closing level of ₹91,500 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, spot silver fell 1% to $29.05 per ounce, extending Thursday’s decline following the Fed’s rate-cut move.
