Gold prices strengthened by ₹450 per 10 grams in major Indian cities in early trade on Wednesday, December 4, on firm global trends. The precious metal moved in a tight range amid high US bond yields and political turmoil in South Korea.

Some wedding season demand in local markets also supported gold prices.

Spot gold gained 0.07% to $2,645 an ounce in early Asian trade. In overnight trade, the metal moved between $2,637 an ounce and $2,648 an ounce.

Silver prices remained flat at ₹90,900 per kg in major Indian cities in early trade on Wednesday on mixed cues. While a pickup in metal prices following positive Chinese PMI data supported the white metal, weak local demand capped gains.

Spot silver dropped 0.20% to $30.97 an ounce in global markets. In overnight trade, the metal hit a high of $31.11 an ounce and a low of $30.91 an ounce.
