Gold prices jumped by ₹1,190 per 10 grams in major Indian cities on Friday, November 22, marking its fourth straight day of gains after an escalation in the Russia-Ukraine war. Gold prices strengthened in global markets on its safe-haven demand even as the US dollar firmed up.

According to reports, Russia fired an intercontinental ballistic missile on Ukraine, escalating geopolitical tensions.

The spot gold traded higher by 0.73% at $2,689 an ounce in early Asian trade. The metal moved between a range of $2,668 an ounce and $2,689 an ounce in overnight trade.

Silver prices slipped by ₹100 to ₹92,000 per kg in major Indian cities on Friday in line with global trends. Weak demand from industrial units and losses in futures trade also weighed on the white metal.

Spot Silver rebounded by 0.64% to $30.98 an ounce in global markets. The metal hit a high of $31.01 an ounce and a low of $30.73 an ounce in overnight trade.
