The precious metal hit a fresh record high of $2,670 per ounce in global markets, inching towards the record $2,700 an ounce level on optimism about the metal in the near future.
Supported by expectations of more Fed rate cuts in the coming months and the war in West Asia, experts believe the precious metal will surpass the record $2,700 mark in the coming days. US bond yields have also moved in range, supporting non-yielding assets like gold.
Spot Gold was trading up 0.18% at $2,661.81 an ounce in early Asian trade.
Following the uptrend, gold prices gained up to ₹660 in the local markets in India ahead of the festive season.
