Gold prices advanced for the second day on Friday, October 4, rising by ₹100 per 10 grams to trade at record levels in major cities in India. Firm festive season demand and the precious metal's recovery from overnight losses in the global markets supported the uptrend in gold. Safe haven demand due to the rising conflict in West Asia has also increased the metal's appeal.

Gold prices rebounded to $2,662 an ounce in early Asian trade in global markets. The metal had dropped to ₹2,642 an ounce in overnight trade as investors awaited non-farm payroll data in the US for more cues about the gold’s direction.

In Delhi markets, 24K gold prices edged up by ₹100 to a fresh high of ₹77,710 per 10 grams and 22K gold by ₹90 to ₹71,250 per 10 grams.

Silver Price Today in India (October 4, 2024)

Silver prices also advanced by ₹100 per kg after a three-session calm. In Delhi markets, silver traded at ₹95,000 per kg on some demand from industrial units and coin makers. Festive season demand was the key moving factor even as the white metal gained in global markets. Silver was trading up 0.52% at $32.1935 an ounce in early Asian trade.
