Gold and Silver Price Today (October 24): Gold breaches ₹80,000 mark, silver stays firm above ₹1,00,000

Gold prices rebounded by ₹450 per 10 grams to breach the ₹80,000 per 10 grams level in major Indian cities in early trade on Thursday, October 24, on firm local demand and positive global trends.

The 22K gold also regained the ₹73,000 per 10 grams level on strong festive and wedding season demand.

The spot gold gained 0.25% to $2,722 an ounce in early Asian trade on Thursday. Gold recovered from early lows following some losses in the US dollar, uncertainty around US elections and tensions in the West Asia.

Rising for the fourth straight day, silver jumped ₹2,000 per kg in major Indian cities in early trade on Thursday on demand from industrial units and coin makers. Silver prices rose by ₹2,000 to ₹1,04,100 in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. Firm global trends also supported the metal’s rally in domestic markets.

Spot Silver traded higher by 0.39% at $33.82 an ounce in global markets. Silver hit a high of $33.89 an ounce in overnight trade.
