Gold and Silver Price Today (October 14): Gold and silver trade lower after weekend rally

Gold prices slipped in major Indian cities in early trade on Monday, October 14, after rallying over the weekend. On Saturday, gold prices rebounded by ₹1,040 to ₹77,820 per 10 grams following the precious metal’s rally in global markets.

Geopolitical tensions in West Asia supported the metal. On Friday and Saturday, spot gold traded near $2,660 an ounce in global markets.

However, the precious metal snapped its two-winning run and eased to $2,650 levels in early Asian trade on Monday following weak Chinese economic data. China and India are major buyers of gold. Gold traded 0.43% lower at $2,645 an ounce in global markets.

Silver prices also eased by ₹100 per kg in early trade on Monday after their two-day rally. The white metal jumped to ₹97,000 per kg level on Saturday following a pick-up in industrial demand and higher uptake by coin makers. Silver jumped by ₹2,000 per kg on Friday.

Silver traded ₹100 per kg lower at ₹96,900 per kg in major Indian cities, including Delhi and Mumbai, in line with gold prices.
