Gold prices recovered by ₹180 per 10 grams in major Indian cities on Tuesday, December 10, in line with firm trends in global markets.

The precious metal edged up in global markets ahead of the US inflation data and political uncertainty in the Middle East following rebel forces taking control of Syria. Local demand also boosted the precious metal prices in the domestic market.

The spot gold edged up 0.29% to $2,668 an ounce in early Asian trade. The metal moved in a range from $2,658 an ounce to $2,671 an ounce in overnight trade.

Silver prices traded flat at ₹91,900 per kg in major Indian cities in early trade on Tuesday. While positive global trends were supporting the white metal, weak demand from industrial units and coin makers was capping its gains.

Spot Silver rose by 0.38% to $31.94 an ounce in global markets. The metal hit a high of $32.02 an ounce and a low of $31.79 an ounce in overnight trade.
