Gold and silver price today: 24k gold rate around ₹77,880 in Mumbai; check prices in your city on December 17

Gold prices were flat in major Indian cities in early Tuesday trade as investors await the US Fed policy outcome amid a lack of significant domestic triggers.

The price for 24-carat gold stood at ₹77,880 per 10 gm on Tuesday, which was ₹10 down compared to ₹77,890 per 10 gm on Monday.

Gold prices have been falling globally for the past week ahead of key central bank policy meeting outcomes this week. The US Fed’s decision on Wednesday will be followed by those of the Bank of Japan and Bank of England on Thursday and the People's Bank of China’s announcement on Friday.

Spot Gold was little changed at $2,650 an ounce after posting a modest gain in the previous session.

In Delhi markets, 24K gold prices slipped by ₹ 10 to ₹78,030 per 10 grams and 22K gold to ₹71,540 per 10 grams. The 24K Gold in Mumbai dropped to ₹77,880 per 10 grams and 22K gold by ₹10 to ₹71,390 per 10 grams.

Silver Price Today in India (December 17, 2024)

Silver prices posted a marginal drop on Tuesday, trading at ₹92,400 per kg in major Indian cities in early trade. The white metal had closed at ₹92,500 level on Monday.

This is the sixth straight session of decline for silver prices in India. Meanwhile, spot silver was steady at $30.57 per ounce in global markets.
