Gold prices slipped in early trade on Friday, March 7, following weak global trends. The precious metal declined in the global markets due to investors' profit-taking after its recent gains. Investors were waiting for the release of non-farm payroll data due on Friday for further cues. Retail demand also remained weak in the domestic market, dragging prices down.
In major Indian cities, 24K gold slipped to ₹87,480 per 10 grams and 22K gold to ₹80,190 per 10 grams. Gold prices had declined up to ₹490 per 10 grams on Thursday. In early Asian trade on Friday, Spot Gold declined by 0.22% to $2,904 an ounce.

Silver prices advanced by ₹100 to ₹99,100 per kg on Friday on higher demand from industrial users and losses in the US dollar in the overnight trade.
The US dollar dropped below the 104 level overnight in global markets, increasing the appeal of the white metal. Silver prices zoomed by ₹1,000 per kg on Thursday even as gold prices retreated.
The white metal gave up some gains in the early Asian trade, which capped its gains in the local market. On Friday, Spot Silver dropped by 0.30% at $32.53 an ounce in early Asian trade.
