Gold prices slipped in early trade on Friday, March 7, following weak global trends. The precious metal declined in the global markets due to investors' profit-taking after its recent gains. Investors were waiting for the release of non-farm payroll data due on Friday for further cues. Retail demand also remained weak in the domestic market, dragging prices down.

In major Indian cities, 24K gold slipped to ₹87,480 per 10 grams and 22K gold to ₹80,190 per 10 grams. Gold prices had declined up to ₹490 per 10 grams on Thursday. In early Asian trade on Friday, Spot Gold declined by 0.22% to $2,904 an ounce.
