Gold prices edged lower in early trade on Monday, March 10, due to weak domestic demand. The precious metal remained flat in global markets, which also affected the investor sentiment following weak global trends.
While a weak US dollar amid trade policy uncertainty supported the metal, expectations of the US Fed keeping rates unchanged for some time weighed on the non-yielding asset.
On March 10, the 24K gold slipped to ₹87,700 per 10 grams and the 22K gold to ₹80,390 per 10 grams in major Indian cities. Gold prices had jumped up to ₹550 per 10 grams on Saturday. In early Asian trade on Monday, Spot Gold was trading almost flat at $2,911 an ounce.
In Delhi markets, 24K gold traded at ₹87,850 per 10 grams and 22K gold at ₹80,440 per 10 grams, down by ₹10 over the last close.

Silver prices dropped by ₹100 to ₹99,000 per kg on Monday in line with losses in the metal in global markets.
Investors were tense because they feared a trade war would hit global demand for the metal used in renewable and electronics equipment. However, a weak US dollar supported the metal, restricting its losses. On Monday, spot silver dropped 0.29% to $32.43 an ounce in early Asian trade.

---|---|
Delhi | ₹99,000 |
Mumbai | ₹99,000 |
Chennai | ₹1,08,000 |
Kolkata | ₹99,000 |
Gold prices opened on a weak note on Monday due to a lack of major triggers. The metal advanced by more than ₹1,000 per 10 grams last week as US trade policy boosted its safe-haven demand amid weaker-than-expected US jobs data. Silver prices also started on a weak footing over demand slowdown fears.
