Gold prices hovered near record-high levels in major Indian cities on Thursday, January 23, continuing the rise for the second straight day after a brief pause.
The precious metal surged to a three-month high in overnight trade on Wednesday, strengthening domestic prices. Gold prices soared by ₹860 to breach the record ₹82,000 per 10 grams level on Wednesday in line with firm global trends.
Uncertainty around trade policies on new US President Donald Trump and a mixed trend in US bond yields have bolstered gold bulls in the past few days.
In major Indian cities, the 24K gold edged up by ₹10 to an all-time high of ₹82,100 per 10 grams. Spot gold slipped from three-month highs to trade 0.11% down at $2,753 an ounce in early Asian trade.
In Delhi markets, 24K gold prices edged up by ₹10 to ₹82,250 per 10 grams and 22K gold at ₹75,410 per 10 grams. The 24K Gold in Mumbai gained ₹10 to ₹82,100 per 10 grams and 22K gold to ₹75,260 per 10 grams.

Silver prices declined by ₹100 to ₹96,400 per kg in major Indian cities on Thursday in line with global trends. Silver prices have moved in a tight range on expectations of improved supply and poor investment demand despite record pick up by industrial users like EV and solar product makers. Silver prices had edged up ₹100 to ₹96,500 on Wednesday.
Spot silver dropped by 0.43% to $30.68 an ounce in early Asian trade. The metal moved between $30.63 and $30.86 an ounce in early trade.
