Gold prices continued to rise for the fourth day in a row on Friday, February 7, hitting a fresh record high in early trade on firm global trends. The rise in demand from jewellers and retailers amid the ongoing marriage season also aided the price across major cities in India.
Gold prices traded near lifetime high levels in global markets due to safe-haven demand amid trade policy uncertainty and concerns of a tariff war.
On Thursday, gold of 24K had advanced by ₹270 to ₹86,510 per 10 grams in Mumbai and other cities. The 22K gold prices increased ₹250 to ₹79,300 per 10 grams. The US dollar index hovered at 107.71 ahead of non-farm payroll data.
Spot gold gained 0.48% to $2,867 an ounce in early Asian trade on Friday. Gold hit a lifetime high of $2,882 an ounce on Wednesday.
In Delhi markets, 24K gold prices rose to ₹86,670 per 10 grams, up by ₹10, and 22K gold to ₹79,460 per 10 grams. The 24K gold in Mumbai increased to ₹86,520 per 10 grams and 22K gold to ₹79,310.

Silver prices declined by ₹100 to ₹99,400 per kg in early Friday trade due to weak demand from industrial users. The white metal traded flat at ₹99,500 per kg on Thursday as the US dollar hovered near 108 levels after a recent correction. Spot silver gained 0.19% to $32.27 an ounce in early Asian trade on Friday.
