Gold prices continued to rise for the fourth day in a row on Friday, February 7, hitting a fresh record high in early trade on firm global trends. The rise in demand from jewellers and retailers amid the ongoing marriage season also aided the price across major cities in India.

On Thursday, gold of 24K had advanced by ₹270 to ₹86,510 per 10 grams in Mumbai and other cities. The 22K gold prices increased ₹250 to ₹79,300 per 10 grams. The US dollar index hovered at 107.71 ahead of non-farm payroll data.

Spot gold gained 0.48% to $2,867 an ounce in early Asian trade on Friday. Gold hit a lifetime high of $2,882 an ounce on Wednesday.
