Gold and silver price on February 27: Gold rate slips on weak global trends; check prices in your city

Gold prices slipped in early trade on Thursday, February 27, amid weak global trends and poor local demand.

Gold prices soared to lifetime highs of ₹88,090 per 10 grams (24K gold) earlier this week. However, the yellow metal dropped in the previous session amid profit-taking and a fall in local demand. On Thursday, the 24K gold price dropped to ₹87,810 per 10 grams, and the 22K gold price dropped to ₹80,490 per 10 grams.

In early Asian trade on Thursday, Spot Gold fell by 0.31% to $2,907 an ounce.

Silver prices eased by ₹100 to ₹97,900 per kg in the early session on Thursday on poor demand from industrial users. Weak global trends also hit the local prices. Silver prices tanked by ₹3,000 per kg on Wednesday as the white metal retreated in global markets on a renewed push to fossil fuel by the US. Spot silver was up by 0.33% at $31.74 an ounce in early Asian Trade on Thursday.
