Gold prices slipped to ₹86,060 per 10 grams in early trade on Monday due to weak demand from retailers and jewellers.
The precious metal traded below $2,900 an ounce in global markets, helped by easing geopolitical worries amid US-Russia peace talks. A weak dollar also assisted the metal, but trade war worries due to US President Donald Trump’s reciprocal tariffs kept investors on edge.
In early Asian trade on Monday, Spot gold recovered from lows to trade at $2,899 an ounce, up by 0.57%.
In Delhi markets, 24K gold traded at ₹86,210 per 10 grams and 22K gold at ₹79,040, both down by ₹10 per 10 grams. The 24K gold in Mumbai traded at ₹86,060 per 10 grams and 22K gold at ₹78,890 per 10 grams.

On Saturday, gold prices in Mumbai and other cities tanked ₹1,090 to ₹86,070 per 10 grams following weak global trends. The 22K gold plunged by ₹1,000 to ₹78,900 per 10 grams.
Silver prices slipped by ₹100 to ₹1,00,400 per kg due to weak demand from industrial users and coin makers.
The white metal traded firm in global markets in early trade due to a weak dollar which capped its losses in the local market. Spot Silver rose by 0.88% to $32.41 an ounce in early Asian Trade on Friday.

Gold started the week on a weak note following its sharp losses on Saturday. Investors are eyeing FOMC minutes to be released on Wednesday for further cues. A weak dollar is positive for the metal and can help post gains later in the day. Silver prices have traded almost flat after its rebound on Friday last week.
