Gold prices advanced to ₹87,060 per 10 grams in early Friday trade, following losses in the US dollar and firm local demand.
The demand for the precious metal from retailers and jewellers amid the ongoing marriage season drove prices in the domestic market. The US dollar also slipped 107.12 against a basket of currencies supporting local prices. Spot gold edged down 0.02% to $2,927 an ounce in early Asian trade on Friday.
In Delhi markets, 24K gold traded at ₹87,210 per 10 grams and 22K gold at ₹79,960, both up by ₹10. The 24K gold in Mumbai traded at ₹87,060 per 10 grams and 22K gold at ₹79,810.

Gold prices in Mumbai and other cities had jumped by ₹380 to ₹87,050 per 10 grams on Thursday after a breather on Wednesday. The 22K gold shot up ₹400 to ₹79,800 per 10 grams on demand from jewellers.
Silver prices remained in a tight range, edging lower by ₹100 to ₹99,400 per kg due to poor offtake by industrial users. Firm global trends and a weak dollar are supporting the metal. However, weak local demand is keeping the metal in a range. Spot silver rose by 0.46% to $32.49 an ounce in early Asian trade on Friday.

After a breather on Wednesday, gold resumed its rally on Thursday to regain ₹87,000 levels. A weak dollar and trade policy uncertainty are bolstering the metal, even as higher-than-expected US inflation data dragged on prices.
Concerns over increased supply and poor offtake from industrial users have kept silver prices mostly flat this week.
