SUMMARY
As Lok Sabha Elections 2024 have concluded, all eyes are on NDA partners Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu as their support is vital for Narendra Modi to become Prime Minister for an unprecedented third consecutive term.
The NDA includes the BJP, TDP, JDU, JDS, Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party and others.
Amid NDA's lackluster performance in Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, the Deputy CM of Maharashtra, said, "I take the responsibility for such results in Maharashtra. I was leading the party. I am requesting the BJP high command to relieve me from the responsibility of the government so that I can work hard for the party in upcoming elections".
Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Wednesday. The Prime Minister tendered his resignation along with the Union Council of Ministers.
"The President accepted the resignation and requested the Prime Minister and the Union Council of Ministers to continue in office till the new Government is formed," Rashtrapati Bhavan said in a tweet.
Congress party's newly-elected Member of Parliament from Amethi, Kishori Lal Sharm, on Wednesday met Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and MP Rahul Gandhi. He also showed them his winning certificate.

In the 2024 General Elections, the NDA won 292 seats, while the INDIA alliances got 234 seats. Party-wise, the BJP fell short of the 272-majority mark by securing 240 seats and had to rely on alliance partners to form a government.
The NDA includes the BJP, TDP, JDU, Janata Dal (Secular), Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party, National People's Party, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Apna Dal (Soneylal), and others.
The INDIA bloc includes the Congress, Trinamool Congress, Samajwadi Party, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar), Shiv Sena (UBT), Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Rashtriya Janata Dal, and Communist Party of India (Marxist), among others.
