Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 highlights: BJP-led NDA vs Congress-led INDIA; check list of winning candidates

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been declared the winner from Kerala's Wayanad. He has retained the seat by a margin of 3.64 lakh votes.

Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah retained Gujarat's Gandhinagar seat by 7.44 lakh votes.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been declared the winner from Varanasi. He defeated his nearest rival, Congress' Ajay Rai, by a margin of 1.5 lakh votes.

• Former Karnataka Chief Minister and JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy has won Mandya seat by a margin of 2.84 lakh votes.
• JD(S)'s M Mallesh Babu has won Kolar seat by a margin of 71,388 votes.

Praveen Khandelwal of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading from Chandni Chowk seat against Congress' Jai Prakash Agarwal by 37,418 votes.

Over speculations of him speaking to Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar, NCP-SCP President Sharad Pawar said, "I have not spoken with anyone yet".

As Kishori Lal leads from Amethi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, "Kishori bhaiya, I never had any doubts, I was sure from the beginning that you will win. Hearty congratulations to you and my dear brothers and sisters of Amethi!"

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh, in conversation with news agency PTI, said. "Yesterday, I had said that exit poll results were released only to influence the share market, administrative system, Election Commission, it had nothing to do with the reality."

"What happened to all those exit polls giving over 400, 375 seats?" he asked.

Registration counters for newly elected members of the 18th Lok Sabha will be operational from 2 pm on June 04, 2024.

From June 05 to June 14, 2024 the operation hours would be from 10:00 am to 08:00 pm in the Parliament House complex.

BJP is leading in Udhampur and Jammu Lok Sabha seats in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, while Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) is ahead in Srinagar and Anantnag-Rajouri.

All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi leads by a margin of 1,56,333 votes from Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat.

BJP candidate from Indore Lok Sabha constituency Shankar Lalwani is leading with a margin of 8,10,073 votes.

NOTA (None of the Above) is the first runner-up with 1,71,309 votes.

Based on the Election Commission of India trends for 543 seats, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is currently in the lead with 241 seats, followed by the Congress with 96 seats, the Samajwadi Party with 34 seats, the Trinamool Congress with 31 seats, and the DMK with 21 seats.

Congress is leading on 13 seats in Kerala, Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) is ahead on two seats and BJP on two seats. CPI(M), Kerala Congress and Revolutionary Socialist Party are leading on one seat each.

Union Minister and BJP candidate from Nagpur Nitin Gadkari is leading from the seat by 37,863 votes. The second position is taken by Congress' Vikas Thakre.

BJP candidate Smriti Irani is trailing by nearly 30,000 votes against Congress' Kishori Lal in Amethi Lok Sabha seat.

According to ECI trends of 539 seats, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading on 237 seats, Congress on 97 seats, Samajwadi Party on 34 seats and Trinamool Congress on 25 seats.

Jailed 'Waris Punjab De' chief Amritpal Singh, who is fighting an independent candidate from Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha seat in Punjab is leading from the seat by 57,230 votes.

Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan is leading from Hajipur seat by a margin of 9,665 votes.

BJP candidate and Union minister Anurag Thakur is leading by a margin of 72,676 votes against Congress' Satpal Raizada in Himachal Pradesh's Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat, according to EC.

As per the ECI, BJP's candidate from Gandhinagar Amit Shah is leading by 1,99,732 votes against Congress' Sonal Ramanbhal Patel.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading on six Lok Sabha seats in the union territory of Delhi whereas Congress is ahead in one.

As per initial trends of 481 seats by ECI, BJP is leading on 212 seats, Congress ahead on 84 seats, Samajwadi Party leading on 31 seats and Trinamool Congress is leading on 19 seats.

According to ECI's update at 10:06 am, BJP is leading on 216 seats, Congress on 78 seats, Samajwadi Party on 29 seats and Trinamool Congress on 16 seats. The BJP has already won Surat seat unopposed.

"Counting of votes for 542 Constituencies have begun. Our teams are here in the control room to monitor the counting of votes virtually. All the ROs have been asked to allow the polling agents and candidates to sit there so that the counting is conducted with transparency," Chief Election Commissioner of India Rajiv Kumar said.

According to initial trends on the Election Commission's website at 9:51 am, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trailing by more than 1,600 votes against Congress' Ajay Rai in Varanasi.

Union Minister and BJP candidate Smriti Irani is trailing from Amethi with over 3,000 votes. Congress' Kishori Lal is leading from the seat.

Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav is leading against BJP's Subrat Pathak with a margin of 3,442 votes from Kannauj seat, according to EC.

In Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party (SP) is leading on 32 seats, BJP on 25 seats and Congress on six seats. Rashtriya Lok Dal and Aazad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) are ahead on one seat each.

As per initial trends by ECI at 9:23 am on 311 seats, BJP is leading on 152 seats, Congress ahead on 61 seats while Samajwadi Party is leading on 32 seats.

BJP leader Bansuri Swaraj is leading from the New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency.

"I am completely confident that today the people of India will choose the public welfare policies of BJP, will choose the development policies of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi," BJP leader Bansuri Swaraj told DD News.

According to early trends, BJP-led NDA has crossed the majority mark of 272 seats, with BJP leading on 244 seats, TDP 14 seats, JDU on 13 and NCP 2 seats. INDIA bloc is ahead in 196 with Congress leading 82 seats, Samajwadi Party on 26 seats and DMK on 21 seats.

As per trends by ECI till 09:07 am, BJP is ahead on 91 seats, Congress is leading on 33 seats, Samajwadi Party leading on 15 seats, AAP leading on 6 seats.

Kangana Ranaut, who is BJP's candidate from Mandi Lok Sabha seat, is leading with a margin of 5,112 voting, according to ECI.

According to Election Commission of India, BJP is leading on 42 seats, Congress on 17 seats, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on 4 seats and Samajwadi Party on two seats. The BJP has already won Surat seat unopposed.

Union Home Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Amit Shah is leading from Gandhinagar seat.

Early trends of counting of votes indicate Union Ministers Piyush Goyal (Mumbai North seat) and Nitin Gadkari (Nagpur seat) and Supriya Sule (Baramati seat) are leading from their respective constituencies.

Congress MP and candidate from Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram, Shashi Tharoor, is trailing from the seat. He is fielded against Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP's) Rajeev Chandrasekhar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leading from Varanasi Lok Sabha seat in the early trends. The trailing candidates are Congress' Ajay Rai and Bahujan Samaj Party's Ather Jamal Lari.

In the early trends, the BJP-led NDA is ahead in eight seats, while INDIA bloc is leading in four seats.

The BJP’s candidate from the Surat Lok Sabha constituency, Mukesh Dalal, has been declared elected unopposed. Congress candidate Nilesh Kumbhani's nomination was rejected, and other candidates withdrew from the race.

"The counting of votes for General Election to the House of the People – 2024 and State Legislative Assemblies of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha and bye-elections to Assembly Constituencies shall be held on June 4, 2024 (Tuesday) starting 8 am," the Election Commission of India (ECI) said in a statement.

Voting took place in seven phases on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1 in 543 Lok Sabha constituencies to send one representative each to the Parliament's Lower House. The majority mark is 272 seats.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the Bharatiya Janata Party, is seeking a third term, while the opposition's India bloc, which comprises Congress and other parties, seeks to replace the current government.

Based on a poll of 10 exit polls, the NDA is expected to cross the majority mark, with projections indicating a total of 366 seats. The INDIA bloc is expected to secure 144 seats, while non-aligned parties or others might obtain 43 seats.
