The Election Commission of India (ECI) declared the dates of the assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand on Tuesday, October 15.
In Maharashtra, all the 288 assembly seats will go into poll in a single phase on November 20, 2024.
The key fight in Maharashtra is between the ruling Mahayuti alliance, consisting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shiv Sena and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi, which includes NCP (Sharad Pawar), Shiv Sena (UBT) and Congress.
Elections in in Jharkhand will take place in two phases on November 13 and November 20.
The election results for Maharashtra and Jharkhand will be out on November 23, 2024, when the Election Commission counts the votes.
