SUMMARY

Trump is on track to achieve several unprecedented milestones, including serving non-consecutive terms—a feat not seen since Grover Cleveland in the 19th century.

At 78, Donald Trump will soon become the oldest US president to take office.

Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday made historic return to the White House for a rare non-consecutive term. With Wisconsin also turning 'Red', Trump has now bagged four of the seven swing states, comfortably crossing the 270-electoral college vote mark to become the next US president.

Addressing his supporters in Florida, the US president-elect thanked them for the support and promised to "fix everything about our country" and usher in the “golden age of America.”

The Republican leader's victory in the 2024 US election has achieved several historic firsts.

Trump, who led the United States from 2017-2020, will be the first president since Grover Cleveland in the 19th century to serve non-consecutive terms. The Republican leader failed to win the 2020 election against Democratic rival Joe Biden.

Cleveland, the 22nd and 24th US president, is currently the only American leader to serve non-consecutive terms.

If Trump manages to win the popular votes, which the trends suggest, he will become one of the few presidents to lose it in one election and win it in a later one. He will also become the first Republican leader to win the popular vote in 20 years.

At 78 in January 2025, Trump would become the oldest president to take office, surpassing Joe Biden.

Trump is already the only president to have been impeached twice by the House of Representatives—once in 2019 and again in 2021. Set for the return to the White House, he would be the only president in history to have faced two impeachment proceedings during his time in office.
