"My beloved wife of 26 years and mother to our five children left us today after 2 years of living with non-small cell lung cancer," Troper said in a post on the social media platform on August 10.
"We are heartbroken, but grateful for the time we had with her. Please keep our family in your thoughts as we navigate this difficult time" he added.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai also shared the news of Wojcicki's demise, remembering her as someone who was at the "core to the history" of the company.
"Unbelievably saddened by the loss of my dear friend @SusanWojcicki after two years of living with cancer. She is as core to the history of Google as anyone, and it’s hard to imagine the world without her (sic)," Pichai wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
"She was an incredible person, leader and friend who had a tremendous impact on the world and I’m one of countless Googlers who is better for knowing her. We will miss her dearly. Our thoughts with her family. RIP Susan," he further tweeted.
Wojcicki was the 16th employee of Google, having joined the company back in 1999. Her history with Alphabet dates back to its launching year of 1998, as co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin had rented a space at her parent's garage to start the company's operations.
Wojcicki's stint with Google lasted for 25 years, as she marked her exit from the company in 2023. During this period, she served as the CEO of YouTube, the video streaming platform of Alphabet for nine years.
After she stepped down, Neal Mohan, a top Indian-origin executive of Alphabet, took over the CEO of YouTube.
