Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has partnered with Tivolt Electric Vehicles to enhance the EV charging ecosystem for commercial vehicles in India.

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tivolt Electric Vehicles Private Limited, an electric vehicle (EV) venture of the Murugappa Group, to strengthen the EV charging ecosystem for commercial vehicles across India, the companies announced on Wednesday.

Under the partnership, TPREL will leverage its expertise in EV charging infrastructure to deploy charging stations at Tivolt dealerships, customer locations, and high-traffic public spaces. Tivolt, specialising in small electric commercial vehicles, will integrate these solutions to enhance last-mile delivery operations.

“TPREL will bring its extensive experience in setting up and managing an expansive EV Charging infrastructure across the country to Tivolt dealerships, customer locations, and high-traffic public spaces. By deploying these strategically located EV Chargers, TPREL will empower commercial EV owners with reliable and highly accessible charging,” the company said.

Commenting on the development, Deepesh Nanda, CEO & Managing Director, TPREL said, "A robust and well-integrated EV ecosystem will accelerate the adoption of commercial EVs thereby propelling India's energy transition and paving the way for a more sustainable future.”

Saju Nair of Tivolt said, “This will be a key enabler in the Electric Adoption journey and the strategic partnership will accelerate the development of EV charging infrastructure. This MoU is a significant step towards empowering the EV ecosystem for e-trucks with robust, accessible charging solutions, ensuring that clean and sustainable mobility becomes a reality for our customers.”

TPREL, operating under the brand EZ Charge, has established over 1,00,000 home chargers, 6,500 public and semi-public charging points, and 1,100 bus charging stations across 530 cities. Tivolt, a Murugappa Group venture, focuses on small and light commercial EVs under the Montra Electric brand, known for its innovation and commitment to sustainability.
