In a post on X, IndiGo said thunderstorms accompanied with showers were expected over Delhi and Bengaluru, which could impact departures and arrivals.

“With thundershower expected to pass over #Delhi and #Bangalore, departures and arrivals may be slightly impacted. While our teams are preparing well in advance to keep things running smoothly, the weather may slow things down a touch,” IndiGo said.

The airline advised passengers to check flight status before heading to the airport and allow extra time for travel, noting that road traffic may also be affected.

Air India, in a separate advisory, said persistent rain and gusty winds forecast in Delhi and parts of northern India could disrupt flight operations to and from the capital and some other cities.

It urged passengers to check their flight status and plan for possible delays due to slow-moving traffic.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), parts of Delhi received light rainfall over the past 24 hours, with Janakpuri recording 12.5 mm, the highest in the city.

Safdarjung and Lodhi Road recorded 8.2 mm each, while the Ridge station received 8.6 mm and Palam logged 6.2 mm. Ayanagar recorded 7.2 mm, Pitampura 5.5 mm and Mayur Vihar 3 mm of rainfall.

The minimum temperature in the city settled at 17.6 degrees Celsius, 1.1 notches above the seasonal average, while the maximum temperature is likely to hover around 29 degrees Celsius, the IMD said.

The weather office has issued a yellow alert for Delhi, forecasting very light to light rainfall, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, and gusty winds with speeds of 30–40 kmph during the day.
