Addressing the gathering, Modi said several startups had made presentations on critical areas such as financial fraud prevention, quantum and optical communication, and semiconductors.

“A lot of our startups gave presentations on important issues—financial fraud prevention, quantum communication, optical communication, semiconductors and others. I am assured that India’s tech future is in the right hands,” the prime minister said.

Highlighting the rapid evolution of the digital communications sector, he said the IMC has grown beyond being a mobile and telecom event to become Asia’s largest digital technology forum.

“In just a few years, this IMC event has become Asia's largest digital technology forum. This success story was written by India's tax-saving mindset. It was led by our youth and accelerated by our innovators and startups. This has been possible because today the government stands firmly behind the country's talent and capabilities,” Modi said.

The digital communication industry event is expected to host more than 1.5 lakh visitors, 7,000 delegates and participants from over 150 countries, along with 400 exhibitors spread across 4.5 lakh square feet at Yashobhoomi.

Speaking at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025, Scindia noted that India has evolved from being a follower of technology to emerging as a digital flagbearer on the global stage.

Outlining India's transformation into a self-reliant nation, Scindia said, "the day is not far off when people will say the world depends on India."

"I appeal to all of you today, design here, solve here, scale for everywhere. India innovates, and the world transforms," the Minister said.

India Mobile Congress CEO P Ramakrishna said that the event will focus on connecting dots for 6G ecosystem development and building partnerships.

"India Mobile Congress is emerging as a significant platform for connecting the dots for the 6G ecosystem. On a global scale, India is showcasing its trustworthiness as India Mobile Congress will be hosting senior industry leaders and experts, including those from countries like UK, US, Japan, South Korea, Europe and India," Ramakrishna said.

The government-backed India Mobile Congress 2025 will be held in the national capital from October 8-11.

"The 6G symposium will convene over 70 global and Indian experts, including technology leaders as well as academia from premier institutes like IITs and international universities. The high-level discussions will explore crucial 6G themes such as global initiatives, key use cases, enabling technologies, AI-native networks, non-terrestrial connectivity and spectrum harmonisation," Ramakrishna added.
