“Bringing the world together to discuss AI! Starting today, India hosts the AI Impact Summit at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi,” Modi said in a post on X, welcoming world leaders, captains of industry, innovators, policymakers, researchers and tech enthusiasts from across the globe.

He said the theme of the summit — Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sukhaya (welfare for all, happiness for all) — reflects a shared commitment to harness artificial intelligence for human-centric progress.

“AI today is transforming several sectors, including healthcare, education, agriculture, governance and enterprise. The AI Impact Summit will enrich global discourse on diverse aspects of AI, such as innovation, collaboration, responsible use and more,” the Prime Minister said, expressing confidence that the outcomes of the meet would help shape a progressive and opportunity-driven future.

The five-day summit, being held from February 16 to 20 at Bharat Mandapam, brings together policymakers, technology innovators and business leaders at a time when countries are racing to define their AI agendas.

Modi is scheduled to address the summit, visit the expo and engage closely with chief executives during the event, which will be closely watched globally.

“The key message we want to send is that whatever happens with AI needs to be human-centric and inclusive. There needs to be democratic access to AI resources, and it needs to be done in a way where people are at the centre of this process,” IT Secretary S Krishnan told PTI.

At the invitation of Modi, several global leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, are attending the summit.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, leaders from 20 countries are scheduled to participate, including those from Bhutan, Bolivia, Croatia, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Guyana, Kazakhstan, Liechtenstein, Mauritius, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Seychelles, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the UAE.

Ministerial delegations from over 45 countries, along with the UN Secretary General and senior officials from several international organisations, are also joining the deliberations..

“Thanks to the 1.4 billion people of India, our nation stands at the forefront of the AI transformation,” Modi said.
