The certification, granted by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) under the Ministry of Heavy Industries, covers all seven models in Ola’s Gen 3 scooter lineup, including its flagship S1 Pro and S1 X variants.

With both its Gen 2 and Gen 3 portfolios now PLI-compliant, the company is eligible for incentives ranging from 13% to 18% of determined sales value until 2028.

“Securing PLI certification for our Gen 3 scooters, which form the bulk of our sales, is a critical step towards profitability,” an Ola Electric spokesperson said. “This will directly strengthen our cost structure and margins, enabling us to deliver sustainable growth.”

Ola, India’s largest pure-play electric vehicle maker, said the Gen 3 scooters represent a majority of its current sales.

The company expects the certification to help its auto business turn EBITDA positive from FY26.

“With our auto business targeted to turn EBITDA positive, the certification acts as a strong catalyst to achieve that goal while ensuring our customers continue to get the best-in-class EVs at highly competitive prices,” the spokesperson added.

At its annual ‘Sankalp’ event, Ola also unveiled new models powered by its in-house 4680 Bharat Cell battery technology, including the S1 Pro Sport and Roadster X+, priced between ₹149,999 and ₹189,999.

Deliveries of S1 Pro Sport are scheduled to begin in January 2026, while those of S1 Pro+ 5.2 kWh and Roadster X+ 9.1 kWh will commence this Navratri, the company said.
