Apple has launched a new, affordable model in its iPhone 16 series, the iPhone 16e, with many exciting features. The device is being assembled in India for both domestic sales and exports to select countries, the tech giant said on Thursday.
The Cupertino-based company has unveiled the new addition at relatively affordable prices. While pre-orders for iPhone 16e in India start on Friday, February 21, it will be available for sale from February 28 in the Apple store and authorised partner stores of the company.
"The entire iPhone 16 lineup, including iPhone 16e, is being assembled in India for Indian consumers and for export to select countries," PTI quoted Apple as saying.
iPhone 16e will be powered by Apple’s A18 chip, 4-core GPU and C1 modem enabling efficient performance and enhanced battery life. The device features a 48MP Fusion camera and an integrated 2x telephoto lens for optical-quality zoom. It also comes with Dolby Vision in which one can make 4K videos with high-quality audio.
Furthermore, iPhone16e will be compatible with Apple Intelligence offering advanced features like image and text generation, improved and more conversational Siri, etc. It will also include safety features including Emergency SOS, Roadside Assistance, crash detection and Face ID authentication. Users can also use the 'Find My' app to share their location via satellite when they are outside cellular network coverage.
