SUMMARY
The offer includes access to the Gemini 2.5 Pro model, 2TB of cloud storage, and advanced AI tools for image, video, and research applications.

Reliance has also announced a partnership with Google Cloud to broaden access to its advanced AI hardware accelerators, Tensor Processing Units (TPUs), to enable more organisations to train and deploy larger, more complex AI models.
Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) said on Thursday it has partnered with Google to offer 18 months of free access to Google’s AI Pro plan, worth ₹35,100 per user, for select customers of its telecom arm Jio.
The offer, which includes access to Google’s latest Gemini 2.5 Pro model and 2 terabytes of cloud storage, will initially be rolled out to Jio subscribers aged 18 to 25 on unlimited 5G plans before expanding to all users nationwide, the companies said in a joint statement.
The AI Pro plan provides access to Google’s most advanced generative AI capabilities, including image and video creation through its Nano Banana and Veo 3.1 models, as well as AI-powered research tools such as Notebook LM.
Users will be able to activate the offer via the MyJio app.
The development follows an announcement by OpenAI to offer 'ChatGPT Go', which supports higher query limits and more image generation, free for one year to users in India who sign up during a limited-time promotional period beginning November 4.
OpenAI ChatGPT Go, at present, is priced at ₹399 per month.
"Google, in partnership with Reliance Intelligence, will begin rolling out Google’s AI Pro plan with its latest version of Google Gemini to eligible Jio users free of charge for 18 months. This 18-month offer is worth Rs 35,100," RIL said in a statement.
RIL said the initiative is in line with its “AI for All” vision to democratise artificial intelligence across the country.
“This partnership will also explore bringing more delightful local experiences powered by AI to Jio users, catering to India’s rich cultural and linguistic diversity,” they said.
The agreement also extends to Reliance’s enterprise arm, Reliance Intelligence Ltd, which will become a strategic partner for Google Cloud in deploying AI hardware accelerators, including Tensor Processing Units (TPUs), in India. The move is expected to help organisations train and deploy larger AI models locally and bolster the country’s computing infrastructure.
Reliance Intelligence will also act as a go-to-market partner for Google Cloud’s Gemini Enterprise platform, offering Indian companies access to Google’s generative AI tools for business workflows.
“Through our collaboration with long-term partners like Google, we aim to make India not just AI-enabled but AI-empowered—where every citizen and enterprise can harness intelligent tools to create, innovate and grow,” RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani said in the statement.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai said the tie-up builds on the companies’ earlier collaborations on affordable internet access and smartphones. “Now, we are bringing this collaboration into the AI era,” he said.
RIL, India’s largest company by market value, has been expanding aggressively into digital services, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence through its Jio platform and subsidiaries. The partnership deepens Google’s investment ties with Reliance, following its $4.5 billion stake in Jio Platforms in 2020.
