Hyundai launches Prime Taxi range for fleet operators, cab drivers; hatchback starts from ₹5.99 lakh

Hyundai Motor India Limited on Tuesday announced its entry into the commercial mobility segment with the launch of its dedicated taxi offerings under the 'Prime Taxi' range.

Purpose-built for fleet operators and taxi entrepreneurs, Prime HB (hatchback) and Prime SD (sedan) offer reliability, low cost of ownership and superior comfort with strong earning potential, Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) said in a statement.

Prime HB and Prime SD are available with 1.2-litre Kappa 4-cylinder engine (Petrol + CNG). Both models come with company-fitted CNG, a speed limiting function capped at 80 kmph and a three-year warranty.

The Prime HB is priced from ₹5.99 lakh, while the Prime SD starts at ₹6.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings are open across Hyundai dealerships nationwide with a booking amount of ₹5,000.

Hyundai is also offering specially designed extended warranty packages covering the fourth and fifth year or up to 1,80,000 km, whichever is earlier, along with flexible finance options with repayment tenure of up to 72 months.

"Fleet operators and taxi drivers look for vehicles that deliver maximum uptime, predictable maintenance and low operating costs, and the Hyundai Prime range has been developed precisely with these priorities in mind," HMIL Managing Director & CEO designate, Tarun Garg said.

The company said the Prime range offers fuel efficiency of 28.40 km per kg for Prime SD and 27.32 km per kg for Prime HB in CNG mode.

Both vehicles come equipped with six airbags, rear AC vents, electrically adjustable ORVMs, steering-mounted controls, front and rear power windows, rear parking sensors, rear defogger, central locking, emergency stop signal, front-row Type-C fast USB charger and three-point seatbelts.

Optional accessories include a 22.96 cm touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear camera and a three-year warranty, as well as a vehicle location tracking device with four panic buttons.

The Prime HB and Prime SD will be available in Atlas White, Typhoon Silver and Abyss Black colour options, the company said.
