On Wednesday, Central Railway announced 12 Holi special trains to connect popular destinations.

Holi special train 2024: Ahead of Holi on March 25, 2024, the Indian Railways has notified 540 special train services to ensure smooth and comfortable travel for the passengers.

The trains will run on routes like Delhi-Patna, Delhi-Saharsa, Delhi-Muzaffarpur, Delhi-Bhagalpur, Gorakhpur-Mumbai, Guwahati-Ranchi, Kolkata-Puri, Jaipur-Bandra Terminus, Pune-Danapur, Durg-Patna, Barauni-Surat, New Delhi-Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, etc.

On Wednesday, Central Railway announced 12 Holi special trains to connect popular destinations.

  • Pune-Danapur-Pune superfast special (01471/01472)
  • Pune-Gorakhpur-Pune superfast special (01431/01432)
  • Panvel-Chhapra-Panvel weekly special (05194/05193)
  • Gorakhpur-Mahbubnagar special (05303)
  • Chhapra-Secunderabad special (05051)
  • Mahbubnagar-Gorakhpur special (05304)
  • Secunderabad-Chhapra special (05052)

The Indian Railways will also use crowd-controlling measures such as forming queues at the terminal stations under the Railway Protection Force (RPF) staff supervision for orderly entry of train passengers in unreserved coaches.

At major stations, additional RPF personnel will be deployed to ensure the security of passengers. "Officers are deployed on emergency duty at major stations to ensure smooth running of trains. Staff are deployed in various sections to attend any disruption of train service on priority," the Ministry of Railways said.

The railways has also taken measures for timely announcements of train arrival and departure on platforms.
