Gurugram recorded 133 mm rainfall in the last 12 hours, including an 'extremely intense spell' of 103 mm within just 90 minutes on Tuesday evening, prompting authorities to issue a work-from-home advisory for private offices on Wednesday to avoid traffic congestion.

According to the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), the city received 103 mm of rainfall between 7.30 pm and 9.00 pm on July 9, leading to waterlogging in several areas.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange Alert for the district.

"In view of the above situation, all corporate offices and private institutions in the district are advised to guide their employees to work from home on 10.07.2025 so that traffic congestion can be avoided," said an advisory issued by District Magistrate Nishant Yadav, who is also the Chairperson of the DDMA.

Monsoon showers also lashed parts of Delhi on Wednesday, triggering waterlogging and traffic snarls.

Waterlogging and traffic disruptions were reported from several parts of the city, including Nehru Place, Aurobindo Marg, Kailash Colony, Lajpat Nagar, Siri Fort Road, the Chirag Delhi flyover, Outer Ring Road, G K Marg, Rail Bhawan, Akshardham, Ashram, ITO, Pul Prahladpur, M B Road, M G Road, Old Rohtak Road, Shadipur, Madhuban Chowk and National Highway 8.

According to the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), only one complaint of waterlogging was received at the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC).

The complaint, related to waterlogging at 4A Harish Chandra Mathur Lane, was marked as "work in progress".

Whereas, around 29 complaints of waterlogging were received at the PWD control room in the evening.
