The approvals include projects from Dixon Electroconnect Private Limited, Samsung Display Noida, Foxconn’s Indian unit Yuzhan Technology India and Hindalco Industries, and are expected to generate nearly 34,000 direct jobs, according to the report.

The latest clearances follow an earlier round in which 24 applications involving investments of ₹12,704 crore were approved.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw handed over approval letters to the companies on Friday, January 2.

The approved products include five bare components such as printed circuit boards (PCBs), capacitors, connectors, enclosures and lithium-ion cells; three sub-assemblies including camera modules, display modules and optical transceivers; and three supply-chain items such as aluminium extrusion, anode material and laminates.

The approvals for PCBs have been given to nine applicants: India Circuits Private Limited; Vital Electronics Private Limited; Signum Electronics limited; Epitome Components Private Limited; BPL Limited; AT & S India Private Limited; Ascent-K Circuit Private Ltd; CIPSA TEC India Pvt Ltd and Shogini Technoarts Pvt Ltd.

The government approved ATLbattery Technology's application to manufacture Li-ion cells, which serve as rechargeable energy storage units for consumer and industrial electronics.

As per a background note circulated by the ministry, the latest set of approvals aim to significantly strengthen domestic supply chains, reduce import dependence for critical electronic components, and support the growth of high-value manufacturing capabilities in India.
