The tech giant said Gemini 3.1 Pro represents a significant upgrade to the core intelligence of its Gemini 3 series, following last week’s update to Gemini 3 Deep Think focused on science, research and engineering challenges.

According to Google, Gemini 3.1 Pro is now available in preview for developers via the Gemini API in Google AI Studio, Gemini CLI, its agentic development platform Google Antigravity and Android Studio, while enterprises can access it through Vertex AI and Gemini Enterprise.

The model is being rolled out for consumers through the Gemini app and NotebookLM, the company said.

“3.1 Pro is designed for tasks where a simple answer isn’t enough,” Google said in a blog post.

Gemini 3.1 Pro achieved a verified score of 77.1% on a test that measures a model’s ability to solve entirely new logic patterns, more than doubling the reasoning performance of Gemini 3 Pro.

The company said the improved intelligence can support practical applications ranging from visual explanations of complex topics and data synthesis to creative projects.

Gemini 3.1 Pro is being released in preview to validate recent updates.

Google said it will continue to make advances in areas such as agentic workflows before general availability.

Starting Thursday, Gemini 3.1 Pro in the Gemini app rolled out with higher usage limits for subscribers on Google AI Pro and Ultra plans, while NotebookLM access will be exclusive to Pro and Ultra users.

Developers and enterprises can also access the model through AI Studio, Antigravity, Vertex AI, Gemini Enterprise, Gemini CLI and Android Studio.

“We can’t wait to see what you build and discover with it,” Google said.
