If the FASTag KYC update is pending, users will get a notification via email, SMS or through their issuing bank.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) deadline for updating FASTag know your customer (KYC) is March 31, 2024. After the deadline, FASTags with incomplete KYC will be deactivated or blacklisted, regardless of the account balance.

As per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) rules, NHAI has asked FASTag users to stick with 'One Vehicle, One FASTag' and discontinue all the earlier issued FASTags through their respective banks. Only the latest FASTag will remain active, and tags issued earlier will be deactivated.

NHAI said that the 'One Vehicle, One FASTag' is the result of reports regarding multiple FASTags being issued for a particular vehicle without the KYC.

"Apart from this, FASTags are sometimes deliberately not fixed on the vehicle's windscreen, resulting in unnecessary delays at the toll plazas and causing inconvenience to fellow National Highway users," the government agency said.

If the FASTag KYC update is pending, users will get a notification via email, SMS or through their issuing bank.
