Indian stock market will remain closed on Monday, March 31, for Ramzan Id. However, MCX will be partially open. RBI cancelled the scheduled bank holiday on Monday to facilitate government-related transactions including payments and receipts as it's the last working day of the financial year 2024-25.

Stock Market holiday: Indian stock exchanges, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), will remain shut on Monday, March 31, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

This means equity and equity derivatives trading will be halted. However, the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will remain partially open in the evening between 5 pm and 11:30 pm-55 pm.

Monday is also the last day of the 2024-25 fiscal, making this the last trading holiday of the financial year.

There are three trading holidays in April, including one on April 10 for Mahavir Jayanti, another on April 14 for Ambedkar Jayanti and a third on April 18 for Good Friday.

Are banks open on March 31?

Initially, the Reserve Bank of India had marked Monday, March 31, as a scheduled bank holiday.

However, the RBI cancelled it as March 31 is the last working day of the 2024-25 fiscal year. This will ensure smooth end-of-the-year financial transactions.
