Economic Survey 2026 date, time and how to download PDF

The Economic Survey 2026-27 is scheduled to be tabled in Parliament on January 29, 2026, at 11 AM during the Budget Session of the Parliament. The Budget session will be held between January 28, 2026 and April 2, 2026, as confirmed by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju earlier in January.

The Economic Survey is a crucial document released annually by the Government of India, analysing the country's economic performance over the past year. It reviews key sectors, identifies challenges and provides policy recommendations. It sets the context for the upcoming Union Budget.

Budget 2026 schedule

The Budget session of Parliament is scheduled for January 28 to April 2, 2026, with a break in between.

The Union Budget will be presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, who is set to present her ninth consecutive Budget this time, becoming the only Finance Minister to achieve this milestone. Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram also presented nine budgets, but not consecutively.

She will also move closer to former Prime Minister Morarji Desai’s record of presenting 10 budgets across two tenures as the Finance Minister, alongside breaking former Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee’s record of presenting eight budgets during his tenure.
