BSNL extends ₹1 ‘Freedom Plan’ offer till Sept 15; 30 days of free 4G services for new users

State-owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on Monday said it has extended its promotional ‘Freedom Plan’ offer by 15 days, following an overwhelming response from customers.

The offer, launched on August 1 at a token price of ₹1, provides complimentary 4G mobile services for 30 days to new customers.

Initially slated to close on August 31, the scheme will now be available for new activations till September 15, 2025, the ministry of communications said in a statement.

Under the plan, subscribers are entitled to unlimited voice calls (subject to terms and conditions), 2 GB of high-speed data per day, 100 SMS per day and a free SIM, with activation subject to KYC as per Department of Telecommunications (DoT) guidelines.

“BSNL has recently deployed a Make-in-India, state-of-the-art 4G mobile network across the country, advancing the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. The Freedom Plan—absolutely free of service charges for the first 30 days—gives customers a proud opportunity to experience our indigenously developed 4G network,” BSNL CMD A. Robert J. Ravi said.

"We’re confident that the service quality, coverage, and the trust associated with the BSNL brand will encourage customers to stay with us well beyond the introductory period."

Customers can avail the plan by visiting the nearest BSNL Customer Service Centre with valid KYC documents.

BSNL has made available its toll-free number 1800-180-1503 and the website bsnl.co.in.

Steps to get BSNL Freedom Plan:

1. Visit the nearest BSNL Customer Service Centre (CSC) (carry valid KYC documents).

2. Request the Freedom Plan (₹1 activation); complete KYC and collect your free SIM.

3. Insert the SIM and complete activation as guided; your 30-day complimentary benefits start from the date of activation.
